# Configure Regional Statmux

Regional statmux lets you efficiently combine national and regional channels in the same pool.

MK.IO Beam supports encoding **multiple** regional channels. Each regional set can be inserted into its corresponding **regional multiplex** alongside shared national channels, while still using **statistical multiplexing** to save bandwidth.

For example, if you have 4 **national channels** and 2 **regional channels** for each of 2 regions, you can create 2 multiplexes:

### Multiplex 1 (Region 1)

* National Channel 1

* National Channel 2

* National Channel 3

* National Channel 4

* Regional Channel 1 (Region 1)

* Regional Channel 2 (Region 1)

### Multiplex 2 (Region 2)

* National Channel 1

* National Channel 2

* National Channel 3

* National Channel 4

* Regional Channel 1 (Region 2)

* Regional Channel 2 (Region 2)

National channels are common across multiplexes, while regional channels are unique to each multiplex.
