# Configure cross stream prevention

* From the Input tab, go to the Cross stream prevention section then click the Add button. The Metadata selection window displays.

* Enter the Stream ID and optionally the Period (see Cross stream prevention parameters).

* Click Ok to save settings and return to the service edition options. The Cross-stream prevention metadata stream is added to the list.

* Save your settings to continue or click Exit to quit without saving.

* You can add the metadata to the output stream (see Define the output stream composition).
